Our Guiding Principles

10 Principles to Avoid Cardinal Sin…

Our guiding principles are also non-negotiable and are fundamental to the way that we operate as a team. Any individual wishing to join the team at Cardinal Solutions must first be able to buy into these principles.

Ownership

  • Accept that you as an individual are truly responsible for your actions and outcomes and own everything that takes place in your work and your life.
  • You will strive for excellence in all that you do, accepting that your actions impact on all of the team and our clients.
  • You will always be willing to learn from your mistakes.

Communication

  • You will always speak positively of your team members, your clients and Cardinal Solutions in both public and private.
  • You will always apologise for any upsets first…and then look for a solution.
  • You will only ever discuss concerns in private with the person involved.
  • You will communicate and resolve any potential broken agreements at the first opportunity.

Success

  • You will focus your attention on the successful outcome of whatever you are doing.
  • You will have a willingness to win and allow others to win…win/win.
  • Through personal development, you will continuously strive to add value to your self, our team and our clients.   
  • You will be committed to the success of Cardinal Solutions, its current and future team, and its clients at all times.

Customer Driven

  • You will act as an educator to allow your clients to make their own intelligent decisions about their future remembering that it is their future.
  • You will impart practical, useable knowledge rather than just theory.
  • You will always look for the best long term solution for the customer, even if that means recommending services outside of Cardinal Solutions.
  • You will be consistent in your actions so that your customers can feel comfortable in dealing with you at all times.

Team Work

  • You will focus on cooperation and always come to a resolution, not a compromise.
  • You’ll be flexible in your work; able to change if what you’re doing is not working.
  • You will ask for help when you need it and be compassionate to others who ask you.
  • You will recognise that we can be more successful as a team and will look for opportunities to contribute, respecting the views of others.

Balance

Systems

  • You will always look to the system for a solution. If a problem arises, you will look for a system correction before you look for a people correction.
  • Good enough isn’t.  You will look for and suggest system improvements at your first opportunity.
  • You will follow the system exactly until a new system is introduced.

Community

  • You will recognize that to be successful you will be taking from the community and you will therefore be prepared to put time back into the community on a regular basis.

Family

  • You will recognise that success in business has resulted from support from family so successes will therefore be celebrated with family in mind.
